Wire and Program Fire Zone for Water Flow Sensor / Heat / Smoke - Honeywell
Panels:
Vista 20P, Vista 128-***, Vista 256-***
Description:
General FIRE zone used for monitoring of water flow sensors on sprinkler systems, heat detectors, or analog smoke detectors in commercial or residential applications. This does not apply to VPLEX sensors on the polling loop side.
Wiring Method:
Supervised circuit with resistor bridging common and normally open terminals.
Circuit Response:
This is a 24-hour zone. Operates the same with the system armed or disarmed.
Sensor Open – Normal Condition
Sensor Closed - Alarm
Wire Disconnected or cut - Check Zone Display. Indicates the system is in trouble and cannot function.
Installation Notes:
Always use your ohm meter on sensor terminals to verify the terminals are open without water flow. Short across terminals with wire jumper to test. After removing a wire to place the alarm panel in the trouble or check zone (Vista), you will need to clear the trouble from the panel.
2-Wire Smoke detectors MUST be connected directly to a smoke detector input on the panel to provide power and smoke detector reset function. 4-wire smoke detectors can be used on any zone programmed as Type 09, but you will need to provide a relay function to "RESET" the power source for the smoke detectors. The 20P has re-settable power available on the header pins. (INSERT LINK HERE)
