Wire and Program Motion Sensor Zone AKA Interior Follower - Honeywell

Panels:

Vista 20P, Vista 128-***, Vista 256-***

Description:

A hardwired motion sensor that, when the system is armed and motion is detected, activates the alarm. There is a method to have the motion trigger a countdown to an alarm unless the user enters a valid code, see below.

Wiring Method:

Un-Supervised circuit with an inline (series) resistor. Wired to C and NC terminals (when powered on and no motion detected). Most motions will only have C and NC connections and may simply be labeled "Alarm".

Un-Supervised circuit with an inline (series) resistor

Circuit Response:

The system is Disarmed, and motion is detected, but there is no response.
The system is Armed, and motion is detected triggering an immediate alarm. If programmed as an interior follower with delay (motion sensor) then a countdown to alarm occurs.

Installation Notes:

In residential systems, the resistor can be located at the alarm panel, zone expander, or VPLEX module (if using a polling loop). For commercial applications, the resistor should be located at the device.

Programming:

Hardware Type: EOL if using a resistor, Normally Closed if not using a resistor. Not using a resistor is only allowed when wiring directly to the panel.

Zone type 04 or 10: Zone type 4 is the normal type for an interior follower. If using type 10, then a motion-detected event will start an entry delay countdown using the delay time programmed for entry delay 2.
